What is Philosophy of Glass?

It is a way of being-solid, yet vulnerable.  It is a way of thinking-clear and sharp but capable of being softened and reformed.  It is a way of knowing-accepting the existence of one form and using it to mold others.  This is my approach to life and to my art.  This is the philosophy of glass.

Hello, I am Alisa, a doctor of philosophy, an educator, a nurse, and a glass artist.  These are the labels I often use to understand myself and how I introduce myself to you-the world.  I am so fascinated by how our world has become connected, by the ways we can reach out and touch each other and how because of this connectedness our minds are challenged and our thoughts expanded.  I am excited to now share my work and my ideas with you.  My hope is that you enjoy what I produce and are challenged, if even a little, by what you find here.

“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.”
― Aristotle
